Shadows of the Metropolis (1925). Willi Wolff

When night falls over the metropolis, and lights, makeup and laughter mingle, then from trickle and deceptive splendor grow the shadows of the metropolis, the shadows of the night.
And a scream fades in the darkness of the night, and flutters on a thousandfold into golden houses full of splendor and light; and a smile dies on the made-up face.

Long live love!

What do you, who sit in judgment over me, know about me and my sufferings?
