Monsieur, I had pictured Justice as blind, but beautiful. Today I find that Justice is not blind – not to rank and weath. Nothing is more wounding to a woman's vanity than the conquest which remains unmade. When beauty grieves, consolation is not long forthcoming.

Happy children, you don't know anything about nerves, yet. But I say to you: whoever looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery in his heart! Can love, this most beautiful of all feelings, be so vibrant? I recognize the nerves of the world by my own nerves. Human ideals are not achieved through violence. Just as a person who does not work perishes in body and soul, a people who does not work must perish. Back to nature! Work! New nerves, new people!
